PAWUSA
is a democratic member controlled trade union operating in
the Public Service, parastatals and allied industries of South
Africa.
The
organization originated in 1967 as the Public Service League
PSL, and changed name to the Public and Allied Workers Union
of South Africa PAWUSA, in 1995. PAWUSA's mission is to unite,
organize, protect, serve and advance the interest of its members,
in the workplace, politically and otherwise.
PAWUSA
approach is to put the member & their family first, providing
a range of services and benefits, to help them help themselves
in improving their quality of life. PAWUSA is also active
internationally building links and solidarity with Public
Service trade unions and federations in other countries, to
bolster against the effects, and confront the challenges of
the globalized economy in the 21st century. |
